Gujarat Titans had a solid 2025, finishing 3rd in the league stage, but they fell short in the Eliminator. To strengthen the squad for IPL 2026 and target the title, some tough decisions are needed. Here are three players who might be released:
1️⃣ Mahipal Lomror – Left-arm Orthodox – ₹1.7 crore
Lomror struggled to cement a role in GT’s playing XI in 2025, often coming in for limited overs and failing to make a meaningful impact. Given the team’s existing depth in the all-rounder and spin departments, retaining Lomror at this price point may not offer the best value.
2️⃣ Arshad Khan – Left-arm Medium-fast – ₹1.3 crore
Arshad showed glimpses of potential, but in 2025 he was used sparingly and struggled to bowl in high-pressure overs. He always erred on the expensive side. Gujarat Titans already boast Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, and Kagiso Rabada, three international-standard pacers. At his price, GT could easily invest in another better option.
3️⃣ Karim Janat – Right-arm Medium-fast – ₹75 lakh
Afghanistan all-rounder Karim Janat featured in just one match for GT in 2025, where he conceded runs with the ball and failed to make an impact with the bat. He didn’t do enough to earn another spot in the playing XI. At this overseas slot, GT could be better served by a foreign player who can influence games consistently, rather than a one-off option.
