Certain movies are best viewed at specific times. As a result, they cause an everlasting impression on you, leaving an indelible mark on your mind.
The tranquility of 12 am is a perfect setting for watching Gulmohar, which is such a brilliant film.
Sharmila Tagore and Manoj Bajpayee are just incredible. They set the tone for a perfect mother-son duo where the son follows silently agrees to his mother’s wishes. The story revolves around how their ‘perfect’ family who lives together but isn’t really together when it comes to being transparent to each other.
The perspectives, the struggles and the reality that unfolds takes you through the lives of a big family who is trying very hard to fit into their own lives. The actions and emotions in the screenplay are executed brilliantly.
Supporting cast is good. Some of them are brilliant. Special mention to Chandan Roy. The supporting cast is mostly used as a filler to either extend the story or relate to a past feeling.
The film gives a beautiful message that in life we only need hope and love.
