The squad had flair, but somewhere along the way, the spark that once made them unstoppable faded. As the franchise looks ahead to 2026, tough decisions will be needed to reignite that fearless SRH spirit.
Here are three players they might release to make room for a more dynamic, Indian-driven core.
1️⃣ Mohammed Shami – Fast Bowler – ₹10 crore
Shami remains a national treasure with the new ball, but 2025 wasn’t his strongest IPL year. Limited appearances, fitness issues, and lack of control in death overs made his hefty ₹10 crore price tag tough to justify.
2️⃣ Rahul Chahar – Leg-spinner – ₹3.2 crore
Rahul Chahar showed promise in patches, but his 2025 season lacked bite. He struggled to control the middle overs and failed to provide the breakthroughs SRH needed. At ₹3.2 crore, the returns didn’t match the expectations.
3️⃣ Adam Zampa – Leg-spinner – ₹2.4 crore
Adam Zampa’s experience was valuable on paper, but on the field, his impact was minimal. He rarely featured in the playing XI, and when he did, SRH often struggled to fit him into their bowling combinations. With overseas slots at a premium, retaining him doesn’t make tactical sense.
Sunrisers Hyderabad have always been about fight, flair, and firepower. What they need now is a few Indian match-winners who can bring that edge back and make the Orange Army roar again.
